A ‘Win-Win’ for All: Lending a Hand During COVID-19 Can Boost Morale
There’s a palatable sense of weariness that a person can feel during the COVID-19 era. With no sign of this ending soon, it’s easy to feel exhausted, as well as fearful, since the future remains uncertain. But manufacturers should not get so overwhelmed that they miss the opportunity to boost worker morale.
One way to do this is by uniting them in helping in the fight against the virus. As reported by the Tribune Chronicle, several manufacturers in Mahoning County, Ohio, acted quickly to convert their plants to meet the need for personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers and other professionals.
This included Dinesol Plastics, which started manufacturing face shields for emergency agencies in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties in Ohio. According to Dinesol President Bob Hendricks, U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, state Senator Michael Rulli and others contacted him about meeting these needs for PPE.
This has not only given Dinesol Plastics good press, but also personal satisfaction. “It’s a win-win for Dinesol,” Hendricks told TribToday. “It helped the morale of the people on the team and we’re helping first responders. From the people who helped make it and the people who are using it, it’s a good thing.”
